Listing Photographer

Job Description

The listing photographer is responsible for capturing the most quality images possible to sell inventory online. The photos of inventory are often the first thing that a potential buyer will see and base their first impressions on, which can make or break a potential sale. It is the goal of the photographer to use all of the available resources including but not limited to camera equipment, lenses, lights, backgrounds and software to produce the desired outcome. In addition to producing images that paint the inventory items in the best light, it is also crucial that the photographer capture any and all flaws with each item to limit the potential of returns due to undisclosed issues. This may require different equipment, and tampering with lights and angles to capture the flaws.


Responsibilities

  • Shoot high quality photos of inventory for listings
  • Improve quality of photos using equipment, lights, and software
  • Document and photograph all damages, issues, replaced parts etc.

Accountabilities

  • KPI: Number of listings made in a month

Authority

  • Upgrade equipment
  • Approve or deny photos taken by other staff members

Schedule

  • Daily
    • Shoot photos
    • Edit photos
    • Upload photos to listings
  • Weekly
    • Post best photos of the week to social media
  • Monthly
    • Re-shoot old unsold listings
  • Quarterly
    • Review photography setup and equipment to see where improvements and streamlining can be made

Goals

Increase sales and customer interest from high quality photos.

Mitigate the amount of customer requests for additional photos by providing all photos necessary.
