Job Description
Product managers analyze product markets and streamline processes related to product development. A product manager may focus their efforts on researching customer markets, evaluating in-demand products, assessing manufacturing processes for making products, analyzing competitor products and collaborating with marketing teams to develop strategies for promoting products.
It's the responsibility of a product manager to oversee the development and improvement of products within businesses, which encompasses goods for sale online and in store, as well as services.
New product managers manage vendor accounts and maintain stock of new guitars, amps, pickups, parts, etc.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with Business Analyst over sales performance and sales trends
- Manages vendor accounts
- Point of contact for vendor accounts
- Opens new vendor accounts
- Manages Orders
- Places custom shop orders
- Custom shop quotes and orders for customers
- Collaborate with outside artists for Mod Shop / Limited Runs
- Ordering cases as needed and keeping common cases in stock
- List vendor items for pre-sale
- Keeping prices inline with MAP policies
- Delegating inventory to the appropriate luthier for setup and repair
- Tracking inventory from purchase to listing
- Manage inventory placement
- Showroom

Accountabilities
- Sales Per Vendor
- KPI: Net profit per vendor (relative to investment / profit margin %)
- KPI: Gross pre-order sales
- Refunds for damages
- KPI: Refunds given from vendor quality control issues
- Inventory Management
- Quarterly orders per vendor based on current inventory and sale performance

- Place Long Term Inventory Orders
- Collaborate with outside artists
- Open new vendor accounts
- Blowout overstocked items
