Employee Purchases
Diablo Guitars supports and encourages staff in their musical careers. Items new and used are available for employee purchases at the cost price that Diablo Guitars paid for the item plus any associated transaction fees (if applicable).
All employees are eligible for employee purchases after their probationary period has been successfully completed (90 days from employee start date).
Certain terms and conditions apply to employee purchases, and Diablo Guitars reserves the right to modify or discontinue employee purchase privileges at any time without notice. Employees are expected to use good judgment when making purchases and to adhere to any guidelines provided by the company regarding employee purchases.
- All items owned by Diablo Guitars are available for employee purchase.
- Items with a list price of $1000 or more are available for employee purchase after a waiting period of 45 days. All other items are available for employee purchase immediately, subject to manager review and approval.
- All consigned items are available for employee purchase for the equivalent of the consignment payout due should the item be sold to a customer at full price, plus any associated transaction fees (if applicable).
- Minimum payout is not the employee purchase price, as we do not own the item.
- Normal consignment payout is (sale price less an expected 5% seller fee and our 20% consignment fee).
- Large-volume purchases (tagged as "Estate Sale Purchase" or similar in inventory) are available for employee purchase at 50% of the list price, as the expenses associated with these items are significant and not reflected in the cost price in inventory.
- All employee purchases must be approved by a manager.
- All employee purchase transactions must be completed by a manager including purchases made by managers (no staff member is allowed to ring up themselves).
- All employee purchased items are not to be resold for at least one calendar year.
If an employee purchased item needs to be resold within the 1 year period it must be sold back to Diablo Guitars for the original price, or sold on consignment with the payout anchored to the original purchase price, at Diablo Guitars' discretion.
Reselling employee purchased items early or otherwise abusing the employee purchase program can be punishable by having purchase privileges revoked, or termination, at Diablo Guitars' discretion. Diablo Guitars reserves the right to take disciplinary action against employees who violate the terms, conditions, and spirit of the employee purchase policy, including but not limited to revoking purchase privileges or terminating the employment of the employee. Employees are expected to adhere to these guidelines to maintain a positive and ethical work environment.
