Operations Manager

Job Description

An operations manager oversees the company's operations. These top-level business roles ensure processes run efficiently and often oversee various departments to ensure employees are completing their work properly and in a timely manner.

The operations manager oversees all business operations at a company as a senior manager. As the supreme daily operations manager, they work with middle managers as well as employees to ensure day-to-day processes operate at maximum efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing strategies that maximize profits and productivity.

    • Sales analysis to make recommendations to sales manager and CEO
    • Inventory analysis to make recommendations to product manager and used/vintage buyer
  • Listings efficiency, consistency, quality control and improvements

  • Improving efficiency, organization and profit to the following processes
    • Trades
    • Layaways
    • Consignment
    • Appointment
    • Listings

Accountabilities

  • Sales
    • KPI: Monthly Sales Revenue, Sales Profits and Net profit
  • Listings
    • KPI: Number of inventory listings in a month
  • Repairs
    • KPI: Off-sight repair reported hours are congruent with logged repair work
  • Overhead
    • KPI: Payroll relative to monthly gross sales
    • KPI: Expenses relative to monthly gross sales
    • KPI: Losses relative to monthly gross sales
  • Marketing
    • KPI: Number of posts weekly on all social media platforms

Authority

  • Implement check-lists, protocols, processes and standards
  • Authority over all staff excluding general manager and CEO

Schedule

  • Daily
    • Review inventory, metrics, cash flow and staff schedule
  • Weekly
    • Use data from business analyst to make adjustments to inventory, cash flow, staff schedule, and processes
  • Monthly
    • Review and analyze store metrics, sales, number of listings made month over month
      • Implement more efficient processes for daily tasks, sales transactions and customer service
    • Review individual performances and KPI's
      • Look for opportunities to increase individual performance output and training
  • Quarterly
    • Review all metrics, business analysis data, individual performance data
      • Innovate and implement ways to increase efficiency of business
    • Formal Individual performance review for all staff with CEO

Goals

Increase the amount of sales revenue through more efficient processes.

Limit inventory issues, inaccuracies in sheets data, account balances and scheduling issues by organization through policies, guidelines and detailed processes.
